The 14th Ministerial Meeting of the ASEAN-Mekong Basin Development Cooperation (AMBDC) Concludes Today

The 14th Ministerial Meeting on the ASEAN-Mekong Basin Development Cooperation was held in Siem Reap, Cambodia on 29 August 2012 as one of the agenda of 44th ASEAN Economic Ministers (AEM) Meeting and Related Meetings, and was chaired by H.E Cham Prasidh, Senior Minister and Minister of Commerce, Kingdom of Cambodia. At the meeting, the ministers discussed the progress made in the implementation of AMBDC project as well as opportunities to further strengthen cooperation among countries and stakeholders to benefit development of the region. “This cooperation is indeed very important to strengthen the economic connections between the ASEAN Member States and the Mekong countries; and we have benefitted so much from this partnership project,” said Dr Surin Pitsuwan, Secretary-General of ASEAN.
