Singapore, 9-10 May 2007
The 2nd ASEAN Services Forum was held on 9-10 May 2007 at Carlton Hotel, Singapore. The Forum was a consultative dialogue involving stakeholders in the services sector to openly discuss and provide input for ASEAN policy making in trade in services. About 170 participants attended this forum consisting of government officials from various services-related agencies, private sectors and business associations, as well as academia.
The forum was opened by the Secretary-General of ASEAN H.E. Mr. Ong Keng Yong and the Minister for Trade and Industry of Singapore, H.E. Mr. Lim Hng Kiang. 18 speakers and discussants contributed to the forum, representing views and assessments from government officials, academia and the private sector, and coming from various countries within and outside ASEAN countries.
The 2nd ASEAN Services Forum is organised by the ASEAN Secretariat in cooperation with the Ministry of Trade and Industry of Singapore, and with funding support from the Government of Japan through the Japan-ASEAN Integration Fund (JAIF).
