Dear Colleagues,

Cyclone Nargis has caused grave destruction and loss of lives in Myanmar. Several thousands are left homeless without food, medicines, shelter and safe drinking water. They require immediate assistance.

I have appealed to all ASEAN Governments, the private sector, civil society, partners and friends to help the people of Myanmar. In line with this, I am mobilising resources to assist the victims, alleviate the suffering of those affected, as well as avoid further catastrophes.
