AICO Application Procedure

 

 

  • All AICO applications (Part I – IV) must be submitted through the ASEAN Secretariat.
  • National authorities may request for simultaneous submissions by the applicants. 
  • Applicants are advised to appoint a single coordinator for an application. 
  • ASEAN Secretariat will issue acknowledgement letter for the application.
  • Applicants are given 14 working days from date of the acknowledgement letter to complete the necessary documentation including submission of Part V and VI of the application to National Authority.
  
  • National authorities will render its decision on the application within 45 working days after the expiry 14 working days for the documentation.
  • National authorities may reject, partially approve or approve the entire application.
          
      
  • The ASEAN Secretariat will issue specimen of Certificate of Eligibility (COE) upon receipt of approval from the last participating country.
  • National authorities shall render its confirmation and verification of the specimen COE within 14 working days.
  • The ASEAN Secretariat shall issue the COE within 10 working days of receipt verification from the last participating country.   
          

  • AICO arrangement will be effective within 45 days of the issuance of the COE.
  • National authorities will issue necessary legal enactment of AICO preferential tariffs for the AICO arrangement.
