POINTERS OF CLOSING REMARKS BY PRINCIPAL SECRETAY OF BKKBN DRS. LALU SUDARMADI, MPIA ON THE OCCASION OF TRAINING PROGRAM IN THE CONTEXT OF ASEAN COLLABORATION
Jakarta, 23 June2001

          Assalamualikum warramatullahiwabaralatuh, good morning.

Mr. Cho Kah Sin, the Assistant Director, Bureau of Economic and Functional Cooperation of ASEAN;

Representative of Ministry of Foreign Affairs

Representative of Cabinet Secretariat;

My Colleague from BKKBN

Distinguished participants, and

Ladies and Gentlemen,

1.                   Let’s together pray to God  the Almighty for His endless blessings allowing us all  together witnessing the closing of a two-week training program on the sharing experiences in efforts related to the reduction of poverty in the southeast Asian region particularly the Indonesian ones.

2.                 Though I am not with you during the opening and training, but I closely monitor the progress of the training through the reports of Director for International Training and Collaboration.

3.                 I am so proud and happy upon hearing from the Director for International Training and Collaboration on each country report especially of the plan of action describing  the manageable changes that you would like to undertake and introduce to the similar  program in your country in  the effort to reduce  poverty. Of great importance, is that every country is so concerned of the follow up of this ASEAN supported training to ensure the continuing exchange of experiences in this field at regional level as described in the recommendations.

4.                 To us, all of your conclusions and recommendations will become fruitful inputs for future improvement of our programs in this field. It is no doubt that this is the essence of the ASEAN collaborations.

5.                 The improvement of the family empowerment programs are among the core programs that BKKBN have and will intensively implement in the near future to respond the program vision which has been approved “the Quality Family in The Year of 2015” of the Indonesian people.

6.                 The vision is too challenging both in term of time and substances. Therefore, any international gathering, conference, training etc. like the one you almost complete, will be maximally used to generate comments, suggestion and recommendations to improve our programs especially UPPKS.

7.                 The UPPKS is  aimed at educating the family to change a non-productive behavior to productive one by among other adopting the saving habit. This is the start up of  empowering the family to run an economic productive business for improvement of the family income.

8.                 Your comments and suggestions make BKKBN be sure of its  slogan which it will always adopt in enhancing international cooperation and collaboration  “WE PLAN TOGETHER, WE WORK TOGETHER, TOGETHER WE BUILD A BETTER WORLD FOR OUR PEOPLE”.

9.                 To end my remark, let me on behalf of the State Minister for Women Empowerment and Chairperson of BKKBN, express my sincere thanks to the ASEAN Secretariat for its support to make this training program possible. Also the future supports that it can possibly provide to enhance the ASEAN cooperation in this field including follow up of this training and other types of programs of regional concern that Indonesia can share.

10.              My special thanks will also go to my brothers and sisters from ASEAN countries for your patience and tolerance in following the whole training process which seem to be very tiring, and your positive comments and suggestions to our programs. I hope that you will have a safe journey back home. Be re-union with the family, the beloved one. Bone voyage, Aufwidersene and Good bye.

11.               By saying Bismillahirrahmanirrahim, my I declare the Training Program for Strengthening of Facilitators’ Skill of Development Related Programs for Poverty Alleviation of ASEAN Countries officially close.

12.              Thank you

Assalamualaikum warrahmatullahi wabarakatuh.
