104. The ASEAN Finance Ministers held Informal Meetings in Kyoto on 17 March 1996 and in Manila on 29 April 1996. They discussed, among others, the enhancement of greater cooperation in currency stabilisation and finance matters among the Member Countries. The Senior Finance officials have identified a number of key areas for intensified ASEAN cooperation. Among them are ASEAN swap arrangements, use of ASEAN currencies for intra-ASEAN trade, cooperation in the areas of capital markets development, customs, taxation and insurance matters.
