ASEAN - Russia

The Foreign Minister of the Russian Federation has proposed several areas of cooperation in the fields of economic joint ventures and regional security which could be undertaken by ASEAN and Russia. ASEAN has referred some of these proposals to concerned institutions for consideration. The Secretary-General of ASEAN and representatives from ASEAN Member Countries have been invited by the Foreign Minister of the Russian Federation to make a working visit to Russia to explore areas of mutual interests. This visit will also provide an opportunity for further discussions on strengthening ASEAN-Russia relations.
