MDI is seeking to recruit a new Research Officer for the ASEAN-Australia Development Cooperation Program (AADCP) – Regional Economic Policy Support Facility (REPSF).

 

Based out of the ASEAN Secretariat in Jakarta, and reporting to the REPSF Team Leader/ Research Manager, the Research Officer position description is as follows:

 

Key Tasks:

Will play the lead role in:

  • Providing technical and operational support to the Team Leader/Research Manager;

  • Coordinating Technical Assessment Panel reviews and organizing reviews of all research reports;

  • Coordinating with subcontractors to conduct research, including liaison with research organisations to complete reports and assist in the finalisation of research reports which may involve proofing, redrafting; assessing progress against project milestones;

  • Preparing final research reports for dissemination and maintaining inventory of research reports;

  • Summarising and recording the assessments by the Australian Technical Director and Deputy Convenor and evaluation by the Research Priorities Committee; and

  • Other tasks at the request of the Team Leader/Research Manager, as appropriate.

 

Will play a supporting role in: 

  • Preparation of all corporate reports; and

  • Collecting and collating necessary data for Monitoring & Evaluation purposes.

 

Qualifications:

  • Preferably Master’s degree in Economics, Public Policy, or related studies.

  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in governmental/international organizations or private sector involved in research, consultancy and/or programme management.

  • Experience in report writing (in English).

  • Able to work independently as well as in a team in a multicultural environment.

  • Excellent English language skills (written and oral).

  • Computer literate and proficient in Microsoft Office programs.

  • Able to multi-task.

 

Upon the successful completion of a probationary period, the successful candidate will receive a contract to the 30th June 2008.  Selected candidate will receive an attractive package consisting of a basic starting salary, plus health insurance, and an annual 13th month bonus.
