(1st January 2001)

 

1.             In order that the Government of the Union of Myanmar may implement the Agreement on the Common Effective Preferential Tariff (CEPT) Scheme for the ASEAN Free Trade Area, which is an agreement of the ASEAN, the Ministry of Finance and Revenue has already prescribed the CEPT Product List and Tariff Reduction Plan which is a basic requirement for the implementation thereof, by Notification No.(247/97) dated 10th December 1997.

 

2.             As an accelerated effort made by the Government of the Union of Myanmar for the setting up of AFTA – ASEAN Free Trade Area, it is here by notified that the (598) commodity items of Temporary Exclusion List (TEL) included in the CEPT Product List prescribe above, have been transferred to the Inclusion List (IL) and prescribed the tariff reduction plan contained in annexure (A).

 

3.             The provisions contained in this Notification shall take effect from 1st January of the year 2001
