SECRETARIAT IN JAKARTA INVITES ASEAN NATIONALS TO APPLY FOR THE
FOLLOWING VACANCY
SENIOR
OFFICER (SO) – INVESTMENTS AND FINANCE
The ASEAN
Secretariat (ASEC) is looking for a suitable candidate to fill the
post of Senior Officer (SO) – Investments and Finance, in the Bureau
for Economic Integration and Finance (BEIF). The SO shall be
responsible to provide technical and administrative support with
respect to the ASEAN Investment Area (AIA) Council, ASEAN Finance
Ministers Meetings, Coordinating Committee on Investment (CCI), as
well as ASEAN Finance Deputies Meetings. The SO shall also be
required to provide support in the negotiations of investment and
financial services agreements/chapters and investments and financial
initiatives, as well as to assess investments and finance policies
that have impact on ASEAN and ASEAN Secretariat. He/she is required
to assist in the projects cooperation and funding. In Unit level,
the SO is responsible in assisting the Assistant Director in
preparing/coordinating the Unit’s work plan and budget.
The applicant
should possess the following qualifications:

At
least Master’s degree in Investment, Finance, or other related
fields.

A minimum of
5 to 7 years of working experience in the related fields,
preferably in those dealing with investment and finance, both at
national and regional levels.
General
qualifications:

Good
research and presentation skills.

Excellent
command of English, both written and spoken.

Good
diplomatic and negotiation skills.

Computer
literacy and proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office tools.

Ability to
multi-task and willingness to perform outside the usual job
scope.

Ability to
travel frequently on assignment and to work long hours.

Ability to
work in a multi-cultural and multi-disciplinary environment.

Ability
to function effectively independently and as part of a team.
The successful
candidate will be offered a post with six months probation and a
monthly salary commensurate with his/her personal qualifications
starting from USD 2,900. Other benefits and allowances include
housing, medical, education of dependent children, gratuity, and
annual performance bonus. Upon completion of the probationary
period, the candidate will be confirmed for a three-year contract,
inclusive of the six-month probationary period, in the first
instance.
