at the ASEAN Secretariat in Jakarta
TECHNICAL ASSISTANT (TA)
ENVIRONMENT AND DISASTER MANAGEMENT UNIT (EDMU)
We are looking for bright and self motivated
candidates for the position of Technical Assistant (TA) –
Environment and Disaster Management Unit (EDMU) to work with the
specialist staff members in the execution of their duties.
The main responsibilities of the TA EDMU include:

Provide administrative and technical support for an
improved information management, exchange and dissemination system
to support the activities in the fields of environment and
disaster management;
-
Develop and maintain ASEAN Secretariat’s websites
and databases on environment and disaster management; and
-
Provide relevant information and data to support
preparation of papers, reports, and other information materials.
The successful candidate should posses the following
qualifications:
-
At
least Bachelor’s degree in Information Management;
-
Excellent knowledge on information and database management;
-
Excellent computer and programming skills, particularly in
developing and maintaining websites and databases; and
-
Minimum 3 years’ experience in information management,
preferably
with particular interest on environment and disaster management
issues.
In
addition, the following general qualifications are required:
-
Excellent English communications skills (written
and oral);
-
Able to multi-task and work irregular and long
hours;
-
Able to work independently as well as in a team in
a multicultural environment;
-
Able to travel, as and when required; and
-
Knowledge of regional cooperation and familiarity
with ISO 9001-2000 system and procedures will be an added
advantage.
Upon
the successful completion of a 6-month probationary period, the
successful candidate will be confirmed for a 3-year contract.
Selected candidate will receive an attractive package consisting of
basic salary (starting from Rp. 3,500,000.00) and benefits,
including an annual 13th month bonus, a monthly
transportation allowance, reimbursements for medical treatment, and
hospitalisation insurance.
