THE ASEAN SECRETARIAT INVITES INDONESIAN CITIZENS AND ASEAN NATIONALS WITH PERMANENT RESIDENT STATUS IN INDONESIA TO APPLY FOR THE FOLLOWING POSITION AT THE ASEAN SECRETARIAT IN JAKARTA

TECHNICAL ASSISTANT (TA) – ASSISTANT ARCHIVIST

TA – Assistant Archivist is a specialist staff, responsible for the maintenance of the ASEAN document archives (Treaties, Agreements, MOUs, Ratification documents, etc.) and the Digital Management System (DMS) through intranet. The TA – Assistant Archivist will be assigned to the ASEAN Secretariat Resource Centre.

 

The TA – Assistant Archivist is required to update the incoming list of the ASEAN Treaties & Agreements, to keep duplicate certified copy files properly, to disseminate certified true copies of newly incoming ASEAN agreements/Instrument of Ratification to the ASEAN Member Countries, to digitise incoming ASEAN Treaties/Agreements/MOUs/Ratification documents/etc. for on line use, and to act as desk officer for the DMS project by proper coordination with relevant parties.

 

The TA – Assistant Archivist will also perform other administrative job routines and other related tasks as may be assigned by senior officers, i.e. preparing draft reports/memorandum, preparing draft archive policy, providing budgetary information on the archive/DMS project, etc.

 

We are seeking qualified candidates with the following qualifications:

  • At least Bachelor’s degree in Library and Information Science.

  • Minimum 3 years of working experience in related fields.

General qualifications :

  • Good English language skills;

  • Proficient in Microsoft office tools;

  • Able to work independently as well as in a team in a multicultural environment;

  • Able to multi-task and work irregular and long hours;

  • Able to travel, as and when required; and

  • Knowledge on ISO 9001: 2000 is an advantage.

Upon the successful completion of a 6-month probationary period, the successful candidate will be confirmed for a 3-year contract. Selected candidate will receive an attractive package, consisting of basic monthly salary (starting from Rp. 3,500,000), monthly transportation allowance, outpatient medical reimbursement, hospitalisation insurance, and an annual bonus of a month’s basic salary.
